All of our advanced tuition is conducted by myself, Neil Wolfenden. I want to pass on my vast experience to you. That experience spans 43 years of riding motorcycles on the roads virtually every day (29 of those years as an instructor). It includes touring in Europe, India and China. Essential road survival skills were developed as a motorcycle courier in London in the eighties.
Here I am back in the late eighties, racing a Kawasaki H1R in the Forgotten Era series. This is a 500cc two-stroke triple from 1970 as raced in the Grands Prix back then. A very rare machine. For me it was just hobby racing but it was a lot of fun and I won a few trophies. The bike wasn't mine though. It belonged to an old mate who has since taken it back to his homeland in New Zealand.
...and here I am with my last bike. I bought this Multistrada in 2008 and kept it for ten years. It was the most loved bike I've ever owned but I had to let it go.
My current bike is a Suzuki DL650. It's not gorgeous like the Ducati was and it lacks the Ducati's impeccable handling, but it is a perfectly adequate bike - plenty fast enough and it's more practical for day to day use. I didn't like to take the Ducati out when the roads were salty, for example, and it wasn't so good for pottering around behind a CBT customer on a moped.
My advanced training credentials are verified by the RoSPA Diploma, which involves a retest every three years.
One of these retest reports I like to quote: "He fully deserves to achieve a pass at the highest level...[His] approach was professional and balanced and his control of the situation and communication were well developed. He was constructive and positive. To sum up I would have no hesitation in recommending him as an instructor to anyone seeking advanced riding instruction."
